The Hotmail service provided by Windows can be implemented free of charge on the most popular e-mail clients (Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, just to name a few), both as POP3 and as IMAP . Unfortunately for Apple users , however, on their devices (iPhone or iPad) this type of configuration is not feasible . To solve this problem, then, we need to set up our account using Exchange Active Sync , an application already present in Apple products, so as to receive push mails (ie, directly sent by the mail server to the client rather than before downloading them on client request, thus eliminating the expensive mechanism of periodic downloading of available messages).

Access the Menu , click on Settings
Choose the item "Mail, contacts and calendars"
Select "Add account" and choose Microsoft Exchange
Enter the required data (see image):
E-mail
Domain : (empty)
Username : related to your Hotmail account
Password : related to your Hotmail account
Description : name chosen for the account

After your device has completed the verification operations, you will be asked for the name of the mail server to connect to to receive the emails: then enter the value m.hotmail.com

Finally, you can choose whether to synchronize only the emails, or even the calendar and contacts in your address book. Now you can push your emails to your Hotmail account.
